"Go confidently in the direction of your dreams, live the life you've imagined." - Henry David Thoreau….

This wonderful collaboration with The Love Assembly gave us the opportunity to pick the brain of the divine Aubrey Daquinag. When she's not busy working and brainstorming on various creative projects, she's planning on new adventures and following her dreams. We sat down with the creative force of TLA to give our readers a snapshot of the real Miss Daquinag and see who and what inspires her...

What's on your bedside table?
My favourite touch lamp that's a world globe - I've had it for many many years and planned so many travels on it, a peach crystal garden that I grew - they kind of look like mini french fries because of the colour, Grown Alchemist hand cream in persian rose & argan extract, my glasses, dream lights in a jar that I got as a present from my best friend - it's solar powered and the little light specs look like glowing fireflies when they flicker at night, candles by APC and Byredo.
Travel!, exploring, sunsets, a good conversation, creating, learning, loving, living...

Any travel plans?

A tropical escape to The Philippines for a few months (I'm literally counting down the days!), Fiji with my family and then wherever...

Must have/bring when travelling?

Passport, moisturiser, my skin can't live without it! Make sure it's spf 30+, headphones, camera(s), journal and a never ending state of curiosity.

Favourite word, phrase or saying that makes you persevere?

"This too shall pass" - seize the moment of the positive and worry less about the negative, because all these moments in life are temporary.

And for following your dreams, goals and plans...
"If you really want something you'll find a way. If you don't, you'll find an excuse." ―John Rohn

Do you think that this is the path for you, if so describe the moment you realised it was.
This is definitely the path for me. My younger self already knew that doing something in the creative industry was for me. I didn't know exactly what I wanted to do but knowing that was enough. After many years growing and climbing positions I eventually ended up handling my own clients at a Fashion & Lifestyle PR Agency. I learnt all that I had from the ground up and I remember thinking to myself, is this it? I was hungry to do more. Hungry to do something for myself. And so I quit my full time job to travel and later start The Love Assembly. When you find what you love to do. I guess there comes a point where your vision is geared to the future and you see yourself doing what you want to be doing, working on something that you want to be working on, sharing your knowledge and and most importantly being happy, loving life.. every minute of it. Even on Mondays. :)

What next?
More travels and creative collaborations!
Smart, sensitive, funny and a good listener. Everything else is just a bonus. The three men in my life: my boyfriend of 8 years, my dad and my brother.

Strong, honest, beautiful, brave, generous. My ma, of course.

Childhood Memories: Oshkosh B'Gosh!, fuzzy hair (I had an afro when I was a bebe!), falling off my bike, dance performances to TLC, school girl crushed including Leo, 90's movies and tv shows. Oh I could go on... so much nostalgia!

The life you love; love the life you live. Find what it is that makes you happy and who it is that makes you happy and you're set.

The utmost importance of life. Keeping the balance of breathing through yoga is powerful, calming and gives me a clear mind.

I can't remember the last time I set up a long, relaxing bath. It would've been a really long time ago. My favourite skin products to use is definitely the Sans Activator 7 body oil that you can also use on your hair and a fresh spritz of vitamin e body and face mist.

Cheese is my guilty pleasure. Food for the soul: gratitude, love and laughter.
"The most wasted of all days is one without laughter." -E.E. Cummings

New places, hidden talents, the unknown - replace fear with curiosity, and never stop exploring.

My favourite surprise gifts were from my boyfriend. A delicate bracelet by French Designer Mathias Chaize that he bought while I was in the middle of getting a massage in Bali and a vintage butterfly book he bought from Portobello Markets in London that he surprised me with on my birthday in Paris.
